Course Entry

Course Entry

Add courses with tees and hole data ready for scoring rounds.

Adding a Course

Course details

You must enter a course name, town/city, county/state, and postcode. These are required fields for all courses.

Global vs society courses

Global courses are visible to all societies and can be used by anyone. Society courses are private to your group and only visible to your members.

Setting Up Tees

Tee colors

Supported tee colors: blue, white, black, red, yellow, green. Choose the color that matches the physical tee markers at the course.

Course rating

The course rating is the official difficulty value for the tee, usually found on the scorecard or provided by the club. Enter the exact value for each tee.

Slope rating

The slope rating is the official measure of relative difficulty for bogey golfers, found on the scorecard or provided by the club. Enter the exact value for each tee.

Entering Hole Data

Par values

Each hole must have a par value of 3, 4, or 5. Par is required for every hole on every tee.

Yardage

Yardage is required for every hole and is unique to each tee. Enter the official yardage from the scorecard for each hole.

Stroke index

Stroke index (1-18) determines handicap stroke allocation. Each hole must have a unique stroke index per tee, and all numbers 1-18 must be used exactly once per tee.

Inheriting from first tee

When adding additional tees, par and stroke index's are copied from the first tee you entered to speed up entry. You can then adjust values as needed.

Drafts vs Published

Saving as draft

You can save a course as a draft at any time, even if not all holes or tees are complete. Drafts let you resume editing later without losing progress.

Publishing a course

To publish, you must enter all 18 holes for at least one tee, with valid par (3/4/5), yardage (>0), and unique stroke index (1-18) for every hole. All required course and tee fields must be filled in.

Course Verification

What makes a course verified?

A course is verified when it has complete tee and hole data for all 18 holes on at least one tee, with valid par, yardage, and stroke index. Verified courses are available for event scoring.

Using verified courses

Only verified courses can be selected for event rounds. Draft or incomplete courses are not available for scoring until published and verified.
